Small Christian Communities

Catechism Study Group

Picture
In the late 1990s the US Catholic Bishops recognized that there needed to be a more effective means of helping lay adults to engage the teachings of the Church. They commissioned to have a new Catechism written for this purpose. Its style is narrative as opposed to the short and almost legalistic Catechism of the Catholic Church. It is meant to be engaged by small study and faith sharing groups and it involves meditation, reflection and prayer as the means of understanding and embracing the wisdom of Church's teaching.
The study of this wonderful book will be broken down into 6 to 10 week series offered at various time of the year.  All in all, there are 36 lessons to complete the whole series.
If you are interested in participating in the next group, please contact me.

Divorced Support Group

Picture
This group has been meeting for many years at the Catholic Information Center. They typically meet on Wednesday evenings for a 10 week series.  Jim Kline facilitates this group. The series is offered for all who are divorced or are in the process of becoming divorced.  Led by those who have gone through the process themselves, these support groups provide a great pathway to personal growth.  The book, Divorce and Beyond by Greteman, Haverkamp and Radtke will be used as a guide and is included in the series cost of $15.00.
